WELCOME TO MAIN STREET GREENWOOD
MAIN STREET GREENWOOD IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO THE ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION, HISTORIC PRESERVATION, AND PROMOTION OF HISTORIC DOWNTOWN GREENWOOD. WE FOSTER COMMUNITY PRIDE AND SUPPORT LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES THROUGH COACHING, GRANT ACCESS AND EVENTS. WE ALSO ARE PIVOTAL IN EVENTS THAT ATTRACT TOURISM.
OUR FOCUS AREAS ARE:
ECONOMIC VITALITY: We offer small business support, third-party funding avenues, and business coaching to keep the local economy vibrant.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION: Protects and celebrates the historic commercial district to instill pride of place and attract investment.
PROMOTION: We Act as a community advocate and cheerleader via social media branding, marketing campaigns and community events such as Downtown Uncorked, Que on the Yazoo, Sidewalk Sales, our upcoming new events Rhythm & Heritage Stroll and Pink Friday.
DESIGN: We enhance the physical environment of downtown through facade grants and accessible public spaces

Main Street Mississippi recently held it’s awards luncheon Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 at The South Warehouse in Jackson.
The MS Gift Company received one of the state organization’s most prestigious award, Merchant of the Year. What an honor this was for The MS. Gift Co., Main Street Greenwood and Greenwood, MS!
Cindy and Tim Tyler started the MS. Gift Company in 1993 and have expanded their gift shipping business of made in MS. products to include the entire United States and five countries. The Tylers have given countless financial support to Main Street over the years and Cindy has served as a Main Street Board of Director.
Main Street Greenwood was also recognized for earning national accreditation from Main Street America for meeting rigorous performance standards required by the national organization.
QUE ON THE YAZOO
Que on the Yazoo 2026 was a success! The event was held May 1st -2nd. Downtown Greenwood was full of live music, barbecue teams, food vendors, art, antique cars and kids activities.
Over 6,100 tourists attended the event which was a wonderful addition to the local attendees.
